The trip helped him better understand what type of father he should be to his son. Scott likes the idea and decides that it's time for him to visit his old neighborhood in Brooklyn. After getting Renee's blessing, Scott jumps on a plane and heads off to New York. Scott meets up with Cuccio and they take a cab to meet Anthony - Scott's best friend from when he was a kid. Scott also sees Anthony's Uncle Robert, who tells Scott to, "Love the Baby". Scott isn't quite sure how this advice will help him, but nevertheless thanks Uncle Robert for his time. Scott and Anthony then meet up with two more members of Scott's childhood entourage - Steven and Ritchie Vaff. Scott's old pals scare him with stories of how hard it was to raise their children. Needless to say, Scott's first day in Brooklyn is frustrating, and Scott still finds himself searching for answers. The next day proves to be a different story, beginning when Scott visits his childhood home. He starts to understand what Daniel was talking about at the Daddies to Be class. Scott then goes to see his 5th grade teacher, Mrs. Barra. She points out that Scott was a good kid in class and offers advice that sounds very similar to what Uncle Robert had said one day prior: "Just love her and be yourself." Scott decides to dig deeper for answers about what type of father he should be. He goes to church to pray. He starts to cry about not being able to share the experience of his first child with his dad. Sister Shirley tells Scott that, "Love will hold it all together in the end--the type of love that makes you cry." Scott finally understands that simply loving Renee and the baby is the most important part of being a father. He decides to catch the next flight back home to LA.
